Alvar Aalto – Second Nature
Kunsten Museum of Modern Art, Aalborg presents an extensive retrospective exhibition of the Finnish “starchitect” Alvar Aalto, one of the most popular and prominent architects of the 20th century.
Scandinavian architecture and design is famous around the world as it is, but has become ultramodern in recent years. Celebrated Danish names include Arne Jacobsen, Finn Juhl and Jørn Utzon. In Scandinavia, one of the most important pioneers is Alvar Aalto. In Denmark, we mainly know him as the man behind the Aalto vase and Aalborg’s art museum, Kunsten. Now Kunsten has created an exhibition in collaboration with one of the world’s most renowned museums, Vitra Design Museum, offering a comprehensive insight into Aalto’s work while also showing a new side of the architect.
