CodeBus Africa – 100 days of creative technology
CodeBus Africa celebrates a 100-year-old Finland’s achievements in technology, education and equality with a 100-day adventure into creative technology, youth empowerment and global cooperation.
In spring 2017, students from Aalto University share Finnish technology know-how with 1,800 youth and 15 innovation organizations in ten African countries. The one-day workshops provide youth with a fun and memorable first touch to programming as they learn how to code their own song. In order to support equal opportunities in technology, the workshops are targeted especially at girls.
The initiative is a joint effort between Aalto University, Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland, Nokia, Mehackit and various African tech hubs, universities and community-based organizations.
