The intimate relationship Finns have with nature is one of the cornerstones of Finnishness. The photo contest Minun maisemani (“My Landscape”) encourages people to appreciate the great beauty of Finland’s nature and landscapes and think about what independence and nature mean for them.
Between January and October 2017, everybody is urged to take pictures of their own favourite landscapes, be it their home yard or summer house, the forest, the islands, the city, or a fell in Lapland – any place – and load them on the site of the contest where people can vote for their own favourites. The best pictures will be awarded every month and at the end of the contest.
When the results will be published in December 2017, all participants and submitters of public votes and also the organiser and its partners, will congratulate the hundred-year-old Finland with their photographs, expressing their gratitude for its nature and beautiful landscapes.
